Community Outreach

Our team uses many different events to not only bring our name out there, but also to bring about a positive impact around us. The following are some of the ways in which we have interacted with our community.

Football Concession Stand

On September 9th, 2022, we held a concession stand at our home football game. We provided snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy. We did the concession stand to help raise money for us to buy shirts, food, travel, and buy other basic needs. We had an amazing time at the concession stand. We had help from the schools and we were set up on the home side. We had people working the stand and people advertising at the entrance. We had a schedule so that everyone got to do a little bit of everything and no one got tired of being in the same place. We appreciate everyone who came and bought from us, this would not have been possible without them.

Administration Vests

The team helped to add the wildcat logo to the vests of the administration of our school. The administration contacted our team asking for us to add our school’s logo to the vests that they wear for football games. Since our administrators aren’t able to wear the school’s colors as their vests, they wanted to add something to represent our school, and so asked us to add the Wildcat to the vests. We used our team’s Cricut and cut the Wildcat out and heat-pressed it onto their vests. We are grateful for all the administrators and we are glad that we were able to help them in any way we can.

After-School Outreach

In our community, we have an after-school program for students in K-6 where they do activities after school. Our team presented to students in the 4th-6th grade. The LRC presented about our team and how our season is going so far promoting BEST in our community and to younger students. We explained how our recruitment process works as well as the different departments of our team and their tasks. We took a robot from the summer camp to spark student interest and demonstrate what our robots can accomplish. We are excited to see these students join in the future and we hope to inspire these younglings into joining BEST robotics. We promoted BEST in our community through this event.

RMS Foods

Our company wanted to find out more about the warehouse industry and contacted a local organization that specializes in producing and packaging plant-based food products. The organization we contacted is RMS Foods Inc. They are the only producers of Boca products that are distributed nationwide. They were very willing to show us around their facilities. This was a great opportunity for the team to learn more about how warehouses and packaging works. We are very thankful for the opportunity that RMS Foods Inc. and Mr. Sam Cobb have provided for us. We also fully appreciate the samples that we were allowed to try while on the tour.
